Why This Room Works
Tonal shades of brown create the perfect base for the palette in a room shared by a boy and girl. Bedding accented in pink or blue helps define spaces for each child. Over the beds, we hung wooden initials and then stenciled in each child's name, and we gave each their own storage at the foot of the beds. A loft is used for a special hideaway play space, with weathered wood and cross-bracing on the door adding a farmhouse feel.
