Apple Chips

  • Bake a few apple slices for a delicious after-school snack – or as a nutritious alternative to regular store-bought chips. They're easy to make, and they store well.

If your kids love chips, this recipe offers a perfect healthy twist. For variety, try firm pears or fuyu persimmons.


  • 1-2 apples


  • Heat oven to 225 degrees F.

  • Slice apples horizontally through the center; remove seeds.

  • Bake apple slices on parchment-lined baking sheets for 1– 1 1/2 hours.

  • Turn them over and continue to bake for another hour, or until crisp.

  • Remove and let cool.

  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top for an extra-special treat.
