A Modern Glam Nursery

We have always wanted a big family, but after our second son, life became busy and next thing we knew, our boys were both in school and we were in this happy place with grown kids. But life had other plans and we found out in April of 2018 that our plans for a bigger family were going to happen. We were having our 3rd boy!

We were thrilled to welcome another sweet boy into our family. However, it had been almost 7 years since we had a baby. We were starting all over again.  Here was an opportunity to create a special space for our little blessing. I have always had sweet nurseries for my other two.  A lot of the items were hand me downs, which I graciously accepted.  But this time was different. I had the opportunity to create a space all of my own for our little Crew.

We recently built a new home and the style of this one was a little edgier. Our home has a lot of brass fixtures and lighting and the color palette is black and white with pops of rich jewel tone colors. The challenge for me is that most nursery furniture and accessories are not black and white. However, I discovered Pottery Barn Modern Baby and I was ecstatic! The colors, the design, style, accessories, were all so chic and so us!

A Jewel-Tone Nursery

I chose the Art Deco Crib because I loved the details on it. It is beautiful from every angle. Next, I needed a pop of color and I wasn’t sure if it was going to come in the rug, rocker or dresser.  I stumbled across the Sybil Dresser and knew it was a clear winner. The green is such a deep and beautiful color, and it adds that wow factor to the space. The details again here were stunning too. I kept the black and white theme that was already incorporated in our home and added the Coco Rug and an amazing rocker.

Finally, we had to have a little bit of brass since our home has brass everywhere.  I incorporated it with our Hanging Brass Circles Mobile and our Geo Light chandelier. The mobile is simple and pretty and it’s such a great focal point for Crew. He loves to stare at it. The chandelier was the icing on the cake for this room. It added so much character to the center of this very loved room.

This room is our happy place. When I pass it in the hallway and peek in, it makes me smile. I was finally able to create a dream nursery for our baby and the entire family loves spending time in there with baby Crew. My boys say that he is pretty lucky to have such a cool space and I couldn't agree more! Design the nursery you love and shop more of the Modern Baby Collection here.
