If you’re reading this blog, my guess is that you’re one of three things: a parent, a fan of interior decor, or both. I, without a doubt fall into the “all of the above category.” With that said, when the big nesting urge hits, decorating my baby’s nursery has always been one of my favorite things! Putting together that sweet space with all new (or hardly used) things just does something to kick up that anticipation, doesn’t it? 

And then... there’s parts of the prep that feel a tad more challenging, and definitely takes what feels like hundreds of hours of research—the car seat search. Unlike other preparations, this is one that’s constantly evolving, new laws, new safety standards, new looks. It can be daunting for first-time parents.  It still feels like a chore for me and we just had our 5th, but as car seats expire (Hello! Didn’t know THAT when we had our second babe!) it was time to embark on the big research undertaking. So, if you’re expecting, for the first time or the fifth, I’m happy to say you can now shave some hours off of your hunt WHILE getting the decor bug fix for baby’s room styling, all in one place. Let me brag on the newest infant car seat from Cybex—the Cloud Q Plus.

Obviously, the safety aspects of a car seat are the priority, and trust me, this one has got all of that (plus things I’m sure you’ve never even thought of!) to keep baby safe. But I’ll get to that in a minute. First let’s just take a sec to swoon over how streamlined and pretty this car seat looks! It’s a beauuuty! 

Not to mention (and I’m 100% serious here) that as I was buckling Adelaide into it, she fell asleep.

Let’s just leave that as a testament to how comfortable it is for baby. It’s also designed to keep them comfy, with their near-flat recline position outside the car. Baby finally has a way to stretch out (or make for an easy spot to change a diaper on the go)! Now on to the safety part. 

The innovators of this one sure went above and beyond. The Cloud Q Plus has two things I’ve never seen on a car seat: 1) The L.S.P. System (meaning telescopic Linear Side-impact Protection) and energy-absorbing shell. These features help absorb force away from your baby in the event of a side-impact collision and 2) The load leg. This extends down from the base to the floor of the car to make the seat even more stable and secure. Another one of my favorite features is how easy it is to pull down the sun canopy—which, let me add, actually stays down—and covers the baby amazingly well. I can’t leave out that the recline-able seat works with either Cybex or other brand’s travel systems.
