How To:
Plan a Peanuts® Valentine's Day Party
It doesn't get more festive than a Valentine's Day party featuring Snoopy® and friends on kid-safe tableware and decorations, easy-to-make crafts and sweet treats they'll love to eat. Keep reading for our tips and tricks on how to easily plan a party that's extra special. It's going to be sweet!
Three to Four Weeks Before:
Plan the location and send invitations. At your home or in their classroom, a Peanuts party is fun no matter the location! Pick invitations that fit with the Peanuts theme, or have little ones draw their own rendition of Snoopy, Woodstock™ or Charlie Brown® – it's a great way to give guests a sneak peek into the theme.
Plan the decorations. From a heart garland to personalized chair backers for collecting Valentine's cards, it's the details that really pull the party together. We created our look by hanging red hearts overhead, setting the table with our kid-friendly shatterproof Charlie Brown Valentine's Day Plates and using our heart-themed table runner as an accent.
One to three days Before:
Plan activities and crafts. Keep kids entertained and their hands busy with crafts. They can make their own Charlie Brown Party Favors with candy hearts and a few crafting supplies. They can also turn little red bird houses into their very Snoopy Heart Houses – all it takes is construction paper and craft glue.
Plan the snacks. Another easy way to get kids involved? Follow our instructions for making Snoopy Hanging Cup Cookies and let them help with the frosting, decorating and assembling! Kids will also love sipping on milk while they snack on pink cupcakes and macarons (served with Snoopy cups and plates, naturally).
Day of the Party:
Decorate. Hearts, hearts and more hearts! On the table, on the chairs, hanging from the ceiling – you can't have too many hearts at a Valentine's Day party. Add a handful of details like chairbackers for card collecting and paper hearts hanging above the table like a chandelier. Set up a kid-sized table and chairs in the room where most of the activity will take place — or outdoors, if the weather permits.
Set the table. Make sure the table fits the theme – after all, it's where the party happens! We paired Peanuts Valentine's tableware with matching placemats and a heart-themed table runner, then layered on red and white gingham accents and a chairbacker for each attendee. To really make Peanuts theme stand out, we layered in a little extra black and white and a few Charlie Brown-yellow accents.
