7 Fun & Easy Sleepover Party Favors

Sleepovers are great parties for kids and teens. They get to spend all night with their best friends playing games, telling stories and eating tasty snacks. Party favors are small gifts given to each child to enhance the fun or as a thank you for attending the party. At Pottery Barn, we’ve put together a list of fun and easy sleepover party favors to help make your next slumber party unforgettable.

Sleepover Party Favors

1

Mini Spa Kits

A spa night with the girls is the ultimate entertainment at a slumber party. When putting together sleepover party goodie bags, fill them with lotions, body sprays, nail polish, exfoliating face masks and other beauty items. Hand out spa bags at the beginning of the party, so that the girls can spend the evening pampering themselves.

2

Dream Journals

A lot of kids enjoy talking about their dreams and analyzing the deeper meanings with their friends at a sleepover. An easy sleepover party favor idea is a dream journal. Select notebooks with different colors or designs, and label them with each child’s name. Include a special pen or marker with each journal too. Kids can use the notebooks to write down any dreams they remember or write personal reflections and experiences.

3

Personalized Pillow Cases

No sleepover is complete without a place for the kids to rest their heads on after a long evening of laughter. Personalized pillow cases are a fun and easy craft that the children can create and take home as a party favor. Purchase plain pillow cases so that each child can decorate their own using fabric paint, fabric markers or even tie dye. Allow the pillow cases to dry completely or seal them in a zippered plastic bag before sending them home. They’ll be ready to use by the next slumber party!

4

Movie Night Kits

Staying up late watching scary movies, comedies or classics is a fun for tweens. One great slumber party favor idea is to create a movie night kit for each child. Choose a plastic container or bag and fill it with the kids’ favorite snacks. You can include a mix of popcorn, candy, chips, pretzels and other treats. Hand out the sleepover favors to the children before settling in for a night of movie watching before heading to bed.

5

Sleep Masks and Slippers

Sleep masks and slippers make great sleepover party favors because they go along with the theme of sleeping and comfort. Purchase plain sleeping masks and decorate each one with the child’s name, or purchase matching masks that go along with the theme of the party. Slippers usually come in a wide range of sizes, so you won’t need each child’s specific shoe sizes. Slipper socks are also a great alternative.

6

Matching Pajamas

Wearing the same outfit as your best friends at a sleepover is fun. Before the party, contact parents or ask when you receive RSVP’s to find out each child’s size. Purchase a set of pajamas for each child to wear to the party. Plus, add a personal touch on each set by opting for monogramming each one with the child’s name or initials. Matching pajamas also make for a great photo op.

7

Handmade Pillows or Stuffed Animals

If you’re looking for a craft or activity to keep the kids entertained at a sleepover party, consider sewing pillows or stuffed animals. Choose several different fabrics in fun patterns and designs. Fleece is soft and perfect for making a stuffed animal. To create a pillow, cut two pieces of fabric in the exact same size and shape. Place the pieces of fabric on top of each other with the outer sides facing inward. Sew almost all the way around, but leave a small opening. Turn the fabric right side out and fill it with a soft stuffing. Sew the hole closed to finish the project. Each child can curl up with their own pillow when it’s time for bed.

Getting to spend the night at a friend’s house for a birthday any special occasion is one of the best parts of growing up. Rather than traditional goodie bags filled with candy or small toys, consider one of these sleepover party favor ideas to go along with the theme of a slumber party. Hand out favors to each child and get ready for a night filled with games, movies, laughing and fond memories.
