A Mother-Daughter Dream Makeover

A Mother-Daughter Dream Makeover

Atlanta-based lifestyle blogger, Dayna Bolden, turned to Interior Designer Jada Moore to help decorate a big-kid room for her daughter Aria. To help bring Dana and Aria's vision to life, Jada gave the space the full makeover treatment, creating an enchanting room that’s cozy enough for quiet time and whimsical enough for hours of playing.

To create a space that would be fun and functional, Jada and Dayna made sure Aria was included in the design process. When choosing the pieces, the goal was to make the space feel girly with all sorts of colors, patterns and designs that reflected Aria’s personality. Jada filled the room with a pink-and-purple color palette, hung a glamorous mirror above the bedside table and installed a book wall.

“The [Pottery Barn Kids x Rachel Zoe] mirror next to her bed is especially cherished because it’s to remind Aria what a beautiful young woman she is every day.”

Jada loves that everything in the room is centered around the Pottery Barn Kids Blythe Carriage Bed, and that there’s plenty of room to play or sit and read. She wanted the space to be kid-friendly and also super relaxing and personal, with soft fabrics in pastel hues, bedding in sweet prints and decor with fanciful details. The space is truly fit for a little princess and is Aria’s dream room.

“We wanted a space that [Aria] could
enjoy but also grow in.

“It was very important that the room was functional and that [Aria] could be a kid in it. I did not want her thinking her room was too perfect to mess up.”
