Plant Parfaits

  • Get your party guests in the mood to grow with these sweet parfaits that look like little potted plants. They're so easy to prepare and assemble, kids can have fun helping out. Refreshing mint and rich chocolate combine to create a dessert that's nearly as much fun to look at as it is to eat!

These sweet treats look so much like cute little seedlings, your party guests will probably be happily surprised to learn that they're edible!

Ingredients - Cupcakes

  • 2 1-oz. boxes chocolate pudding mix and required ingredients
  • 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Half-pint mason jars
  • Miniature wooden spoons (available at shoptomkat.com)
  • Alphabet stamps (available at shoptomkat.com)
  • Brown ink pad

Preparation

  • Prepare chocolate pudding as directed on package.

  • Place chocolate cookies in a large resealable bag and use a rolling pin or mallet to crush.

  • Pour a heaping tablespoon of crushed cookies into each jar.

  • Add a generous quarter-cup of chocolate pudding to each jar (enough to fill about halfway).

  • Repeat steps 3 and 4, and top with a final layer of crumbled cookies to create the appearance of dirt.

  • Poke a few sprigs of fresh mint leaves into the top of each parfait, creating a little "seedling."

  • Use alphabet stamps to stamp your guests' names or a word on each of the miniature wooden spoons, and present one with each parfait.
