Why This Room Works

Here we accented white walls with horizontal stripes that complement the room's textiles. Over the crib, we crafted a mobile by cutting toy boat sails out of fabric remnants and using rope to hang the boats from a piece of driftwood. Inspired by old-fashioned canvas sails, we hung heavy cotton-canvas drapes from wooden pegs using grommets and rope loops.
