Why This Room Works

In a room defined by tonal blues and rich wood, we added a pop of color with one red wall behind the bed. The bedding combines images of trains with classic gingham and stripes that evoke old-fashioned conductors' hats. We created a quiet study space by tucking a desk into the adjacent room. Wall-mounted shelves over the bed are made for display, and sconces flank the headboard for bedtime reading.
