Leaf Place Cards

Give your littlest guests their own special place at the kids' table with these festive handmade cards. Older kids will love to help you draw the leaves or cut out the pieces.

Tools and Materials

  • Burlap
  • Card stock in autumnal colors
  • Sewing machine
  • Red or orange colored thread
  • Permanent marker in the color of your choice

How to Assemble the Place Cards

1. Cut card stock into a 3x4 rectangle (you'll need one rectangle per child). Fold the rectangle so that the shortest sides of the card meet.

2. Cut a piece of burlap to fit the front of the folded card, then sew it onto the card lengthwise across the top and bottom.

3. Draw a leaf on the remaining card stock. Cut it out and sew it onto the burlap and card stock.

4. Use your marker to write each child's name on the back of assembled cards.

NOTE: For easier assembly (or if you don't have a sewing machine), use craft glue to stick the pieces together.
