Details are essential when choosing kids’ bedding. Here you’ll find care instructions, size measurements and a glossary of key terms that will help you select the perfect bedding for your child.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Unless otherwise noted, all Pottery Barn Kids sheeting and quilted bedding is machine washable. For best results, wash bedding before first use. Follow instructions on the care label. Wash in cold or warm water (as specified) and tumble dry on low or medium heat (as specified). Remove promptly from the dryer. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed.

Duvet Covers

Toddler duvet covers have envelope closures with hidden ties. Twin and full/queen duvet covers have hidden buttons. All duvet covers have a pair of ties at each inside corner for securing comforters.

Pottery Barn Kids sheeting is 200-thread-count 100% cotton percale. Our sheet sets contain one fitted and one flat sheet. Twin sets include one standard pillowcase; full and queen sets have two standard pillowcases.

GLOSSARY

Comforter
Also known as a "duvet." A puffy bedcover sewn of cotton sheeting, generally filled with feather and down clusters or synthetic fibers and stitched through to discourage the fill from shifting. Often used with a duvet cover.
Crib Bumper
Also known as a "bumper pad." It provides cushioning between baby and the hard slats/sides of a crib.
Duvet Cover
A covering used to enclose and protect a comforter, which is also known as a "duvet." Pottery Barn Kids offers duvet covers in a wide range of yarn-dyes and prints. Toddler-sized duvet covers have envelope closures; twin and full/queen sizes have hidden button closures. Inside the duvet cover are ties at all four corners to keep the comforter in place.
Pillowcase
A removable pillow covering. Pottery Barn Kids pillowcases are made of 200-thread-count cotton percale and have an opening at the side of the case. Our pillowcases have an inside flap to hold pillows in place. Available in standard and small sizes.
Quilt
A bedcover with fabrics pieced and sewn together to create a decorative "topper." Batting is inserted between the topper and the backing, sewn together, then quilted with an often-decorative pattern of tiny stitches. Most Pottery Barn Kids quilts are quilted by hand, prewashed for softness and sun dried to create a distinct, mild puckering of the fabric, which enhances their hand quilting.
Sham
A type of removable pillow covering. Often larger than a pillowcase, some shams have a flange and/or a quilted front. Designed to protect a pillow while offering a stylish appeal. Pottery Barn Kids offers shams in standard and small sizes.
Small Pillow
A 12 x 16" pillow insert; smaller than a standard pillow. To be removed from a crib during sleep or nap time. For use with Pottery Barn Kids small-sized pillowcases or shams.
Standard Pillow
A 20 x 26" pillow insert; fits standard-sized pillowcases and shams.
