Throw a Safari Birthday Party
Throw a safari birthday party and make your child's wildest dreams come true. This easy-to-do adventure will thrill the world's smallest explorers.
Invitations

Invite the entire pack with our safari party invitations. Enlist your child's help to make a simple map for guests to follow, embellished with animal paw print stamps, and include with the invitations. You can also have kids make a simple collaged "save-the-date" flyer made with photocopied pictures of animals and of Africa, and pass out to friends before the invitations go out a week or so later. Kids will go wild counting down the days 'till the party begins!

Decorations

Hang up one of our Elephant Wall Murals or Safari Party Banner—both are perfect backdrops for a safari party.

Make animal tracks throughout your house. Use black paint or markers to draw tracks on brown Kraft roll paper. You can find the shapes of different animal marks online. Tape the long roll of paper to the floor so guests can follow the animal footprints all the way to the party table.

Drape mosquito net canopy from the ceiling and decorate with toy bugs, plastic monkeys and reptiles.

Fill the party room with clusters of animal print, brown and green latex balloons.

Set the table with special safari-themed place settings. Make room for special plush wild animal friends, too.

Games

Give kids a chance to guess what animal a trail of tracks belongs to on the roll of Kraft paper. When they guess correctly, give them a mini-scrapbook covered in faux-fur or animal-print fabric. This is their "animal passport book". Next, send kids off in an animal mask to find hidden plastic animals throughout the house. Stamp the pages of the animal passport book with rubber stamps representing the animals found.

Paint kids cheeks with animal stripes or spots. Take digital photos and let kids decorate store-bought papier-mâché frames with rubber stamps and swatches of animal-print fabric. Frame the photos for each child as a party favor.

Food

Have a local bakery decorate a cake with animal paw prints or spots. Serve cake with tropical punch in our special melamine safari party ware rather than traditional paper goods. It's better for the environment, and the plates can be used year round for kids' meals.

Other snack ideas: Use small cookie cutters to cut animal shapes out of cheese slices and serve the cheese on butterfly-shaped crackers. Place bunches of bananas and animal crackers in the center of the table for when your hungry explorers return from their safari adventures.
