Selecting kid-friendly, sturdy gear is a smart investment. It makes a big difference if kids can pull their own luggage. Our Farifax smooth-rolling suitcase is designed for little hands to pull. It also meets most airline-defined size regulations for carry-ons of 22" x 14" x 9". Other carryon options are backpacks and duffels that are easy to open and can be maneuvered into tight spots, like crowded overhead compartments and under seats.
Allow plenty of time, including wait times, at airports so that you're not running through an airport with children. Use early boarding opportunities to get settled onto the plane. Some families prefer sitting in the middle of the plane as it's less bumpy. Others like the aisle for walking with an energetic toddler. Plan well in advance to select seats that work for you.

Car games encourage cooperative interaction in close quarters. Classic games like "I Spy" or "Find State Plates" are still popular. Another is to start a story and take turns as each person contributes; or look for things out the window that start with A, progressing on down to Z. Bring clipboards and print out our car games of Bingo, Word Play, Tic Tac Toe or a Trip Map.

Food on hand is another travel necessity. Pack finger foods that are convenient to transport, non-perishable, and easy on the stomach to digest. Giving your baby or toddler something to drink will help adapt to changing pressure when ascending or descending in a plane. Store sandwiches, fruit, crackers and more in our Food Storage Containers.
